Description

Directors Robert Greene and Joe Bini will discuss their approach to documentary characters studies and making films without resources.

How to attend

When: Sunday, August 29th 3:00pm – 4:30 pm ET

Where: Zoom! You’ll receive a link to join the discussion on Zoom

What is the format of the conversation with Robert Greene and Joe Bini?

The conversation will begin with a 45 min-1 hr facilitated discussion with Robert Greene and Joe Bini. This will be followed by an audience Q&A when we will invite you to ask the guests questions live on camera/mic. If you’re not comfortable asking your questions yourself, you can ask us to read them out for you. A recording of the conversation will be available for one week after the discussion, if you can’t attend live.

Who are the guests for the masterclass?

Joe Bini

Joe Bini has made twenty-seven films as an editor with Werner Herzog (E.g., Grizzly Man, Cave of Forgotten Dreams), as well as many other filmmakers (e.g., Lynne Ramsay’s You Were Never Really Here), and has recently moved on to directing film and live performance himself (Little Ethiopia).

Robert Greene

Robert Greene has made several acclaimed documentaries that blue the line between fiction and fiction, including Bisbee ‘17, Kate Plays Christine, and Actress. He has also worked as an editor for directors such as Alex Ross Perry.

This conversation is part of The 2021 Creative Nonfiction Workshop, which features four conversations with pairs of nonfiction filmmakers, as well as access to watch their films, meet fellow attendees, and join informal discussion groups. Tickets for the full workshop are currently off sale, but you can attend this masterclass with a single ticket.
