The worldwide online French film festival, myfrenchfilmfestival, is happening now until February 17, 2025, and it’s a can’t-miss event. Alex has been attending since 2017 and has been recommending the festival annually to Seventh Row Newsletter subscribers.

In this episode, Alex discusses three reasons why you should make time for myfrenchfilmfestival. She also recommends three films at this year’s edition of myfrenchfilmfestival. The films are: A Real Job, No Love Lost, and Through the Night.

myfrenchfilmfestival is a low-cost, low-effort way to sample hard-to-see French cinema with fairly wide appeal. Most films screening in your country have not yet secured a distributor. Past editions of myfrenchfilmfestival have included Seventh Row favourites like In Bed with Victoria, Les démons, Zero Fucks Given, This Summer Feeling, and Nadia Butterfly. Some of these films eventually become available (it took Nadia Butterfly 3+ years to roll out internationally). Others disappear forever — especially if you want to watch them with English subtitles. But you can buy a VOD copy of the films on iTunes/AppleTV to watch after the festival!
